Getting melted Crayon out of clothes

I found this on the Thrifty Fun Web Site

OMG! I have to admit after reading this entire page of "fix's" for crayoned clothes through the dryer, I was probably the BIGGEST skeptic! My clothes sat this way for 2 whole days, before I could get to the store to get the ingredients. WELL.....I am still in freakin' shock. My daughter took a couple crayons (from a restaurant) and had one in her sweatshirt pocket. ( I always check jeans pockets!! It ruined an entire load of new jeans and t-shirts and a couple sweatshirts (that were all x-mas gifts). I did not know until after they went through the entire dryer cycle. WELL.....
I used the "This Is The One" recipe:
2 Maximum load scoops of liquid Tide
1 Cup of Mule 20 Borax (powder)
1 Cup of Liquid Shout
2 scoops of OxyClean
1 Cup of White Vinegar
I ran the washer with the above ingredients in HOT water until the agitation started ( I let it agitate for 1 minute first) then added the clothes...SOAKED in the mixture for 2 hours..then started the washer back up to finish the wash cycle as normal...after, I removed the clothes and added Tide & OxyClean together and re-washed the clothes in warm water...then after that I just did 1 extra rinse and then put in dryer and ALL the clothes came out with not even 1 Green Crayon mark left on it!!! ( It was REALLY REALLY Bad too )
Just try this before throwing them all away...I had the clothes in a garbage bag and then I decided to Google "how to remove dried on crayon marks from clothes"
Thank Goodness for Google & this website!!!

Cold and Rainy

It is suppose to rain most of the day and get colder as the week goes on. They say by the end of the week we are suppose to have freeze warnings again!

Not much to report here. We are finally feeling better:-) Though Grace is her usual crabby self:(

I will try to take and post some pictures today.

Its a good thing one can't catch a cold or virus from another person over the internet, because you would all be in trouble!

Since Sunday night we all have come down with the stomach flu:(

It sucks when everyone is sick at the same time! Plus
i hate throwing up as much as I do cleaning it up!

Hoping tomorrow is a better day!

Peppermint Stick Ice Cream

Here are some things I bet you didn't know about my kids before you read this!

Sami- is 6 going on 16. She LOVES make up and likes to play with the boys in the neighborhood.
Her favorite foods are pasta, most veggies, peanut butter (no jelly) sandwiches and Little Debbie Snack Cakes (preferably the holiday ones) She is a big fan of Hannah Montana as well. She is also currently getting over a double ear infection.

(here is sami on Christmas morning)

Summer- And we thought Sami was a difficult toddler- Summer makes Sami look like an angel compared to her. But i'll start with the good stuff first! She loves to eat (most days). Her favorite drink is "minnie" milk (chocolate milk in her Minnie Mouse sippy cup), and LOVES (and I can emphasize that word enough) candy. She is talking more and makes more sense now when she does talk! She loves water and playing in the sink with Barbie dolls. She named her new doll she got for Christmas after Sami's doll (Sophie). She weights 36 pounds and is 38 inches tall (she'll be 3 in march). Her favorite cartoons are 'Super Why' and 'Toot and Puddle' (its on the Noggin channel)

Not for the not so good stuff. She HATES to brush her teeth, she has a violent temper and likes to throw things (tonight it was a plastic chair at the TV). She is still very unhappy she has a baby sister and can't be left alone with her at anytime. And she is extremely stubborn!

(summer acctually smiling for the camera!)

Grace- also has an ear infection. :-( She loves her sisters and likes to play with them and their toys which doesn't go over well most of the time. She likes water, but hates baths and getting any part of her body washed. She has 6 teeth. She LOVES the cats, (especially their faces) though they aren't crazy about her. She can go up and down (standing up) the couple of steps we have in our house and she is trying to figure out how to open doors. Her favorite foods are blue berries, yogurt and cheese. She hates meat. She is going to be tall and really skinny like Sami is.

(here is Grace with blinking devil horns on- grandma was being funny!)

Oh and in case you are wondering what this has to do with Peppermint Stick ice cream...nothing, I was eating it while typing this post! :-)

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone!

Not much going on here. I had to work all day (time and a half:) But I did get some bad news at store is going from an over-night to an early morning store. Meaning instead of re-stocking the shelves over night they will start at 4 am instead. How does this effect me? Well right now I work late evenings prepping the signs for the up coming weekly sale ad. Some nights of the week I work all night. Now with the change that can't happen anymore and I will have to start working during the day!

So I either find a new job, transfer to another Target and hope I can do the same work and the same hours (which is highly unlikely), or find a baby sitter for at least one day a week. *sigh* this out to be interesting!
